The « Welcome in Tziganie » adventure began in 2008 with the creation by the association « L' Air des Balkans » of a festive and cultural event during which the gypsy and Balkan artists are in the spotlight.
Since its creation, « Welcome in Tziganie » has remained faithful to its objectives: to discover and promote gypsy cultural wealth to a greater number, to create a link between gypsy populations and the local population, to energize the department over the period before festival season, and create a real local dynamic.
Today, the association's project has developed profoundly, the main events of which are as follows:
- Welcome i nTziganie festival : recognized for the richness and quality of its melodies, its positive energy, its cheerfulness and its spontaneity, « Welcome in Tziganie » has become the most bohemian festival of Gascony and one of the key events of the Gers festival season, becoming one of the most must-see events for aficionados of gypsy and balkanic music. It will celebrate its 15th edition in 2022
- A traveling cultural season in the Val de Gers territory : the objective of the association is to continue the development and the opening up of the territory, in connection with the social actors ans the partners, by actions with various audiences and a program of shows and educational cultural actions.
- A European cooperation project : “Roma Jazzing Europe”, supported by the Creative Europe program of the European Union. International exchange project of young jazz musicians between 3 music festivals : Balkan Traffic in Brussels, Welcome in Tziganie in Seissan ans Nisville festival in Nis in Serbia.

Welcome in Gypsy mixes artists, but also styles, from flamenco to gypsy swing, through traditional orchestras.
Since its creation, the festival's ambition has been to promote career development and the promotion of professional performers from the French and European gypsy scene. Regional and national groups can play alongside the most emblematic artists of gypsy and Balkan music. Since 2018, a free off festival has developed and allows young regional and national groups to perform during the festival in front of a large audience.
